What is harmony?

Harmony Day in Australia is celebrated on March 21. It is all about celebrating the country's cultural Diversity. 

What is the "message “of Harmony Day?

It basically represents that everyone is equal and the message spreaded on that day is to eliminate Racial dicrmination. It has also been said that, Harmony Day is a day to celebrate the diversity of community and all Australians.This will also be an opportunity for the community to give feedback on the services RDHS provide.

Harmony day also aims to encourage Australians to:

·        Take a stand against racism, prejudice and intolerance.

·        It also helps to build peaceful, positive future for our children through example

·        It also makes the most of our racial, cultural, social and religious diversity and

·        Lastly, it also practises traditional values of justice, equality, fairness and friendship

What is the official colour for the day?

The colour Orange is considered as the  official colour of the Harmony Day and many people wear Orange clothes or Ribbons on that day.

What does the colour stand for / why was this colour chosen?

Traditionally, Orange colour signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also refers to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. 

What other important International day shares the day with Harmony day? What connection do these days have with each other?

It coincides with the United Nations' International Day. The message both of them try convey is that to give social justice and avoid Racial dicrimination.
